Google is now adding an all new transit option to Maps: Lime scooters as well as bikes. Maps will now be showing the option to direct you toward the closest shared vehicle along with the travel time.
Maps already shows a similar kind of integration for services like Lyft and Uber. Google will be giving you Lime as an option, along with the estimated price and location, and will be forwarding you over to the Lime app to be able to find and book the bike or scooter in question.
Google is rolling out the Lime integration in a total of 13 cities across the world to start: Dallas, Texas; Austin, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Oakland, California; Los Angeles, California; San Diego, California; San Antonio, Texas; San Jose, California; Baltimore, Maryland; Seattle, Washington; Scottsdale, Arizona; Brisbane, Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. The feature would possibly be available on Google Maps on iOS and Android starting today.
